The client proposed alterations and additions to the existing Roscrea wastewater treatment plant facility, construction of 2 Nr. pipe bridges across the local watercourse, gravity sewer replacements, installation of sections of new rising mains and gravity sewers, and construction of an offline storage tank.
The investigation was required primarily to obtain geotechnical information at the Roscrea wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) facility and along the proposed route of new rising mains and gravity sewers, proposed gravity sewer replacements and at the site of the new storage tank. Investigation works were undertaken on the public carriageways of Mill Road (R491), Limerick Road, Abbey Street, The Valley and Malt Vale in the town of Roscrea, along with works being carried out in privately owned lands (Beechfield Products accessed from Beechwalk), council owned lands to the south-east of Chapel Lane, and the Roscrea WWTP situated southerly adjacent to the Bunnow River and accessed via Mill Road.
